Decorative Concrete

The bulk of our concrete work is sidewalks, driveways, garages, and slabs. We have not had a lot of requests for decorative concrete work. However, we have done a few jobs that involved decorative concrete work.

acidstainconcrete.jpgThe first decorative concrete job that we did was when my father built his house. He built an A-Frame and most of the living space was going to be downstairs. This bottom floor was all concrete so we decided to try our hand at acid staining. It was a really easy process and I must say that it turned out gorgeous.

We have also done some concrete stamping jobs. I was a little nervous to begin with, but as we began to see the results I realized that this was something that we could do very well. The key to it was just timing. We had to make sure we began the stamping when the concrete could still take the stamps impressions, but not so wet that the stamps would would leave a sloppy finish.

Some of the decorative concrete applications that people are doing these days are just amazing. Concrete countertops are becoming popular in some higher end homes, and most of the decorative finishes that can be done on regular concrete can be done on countertops as well. It’s very interesting to see concrete being used in so many ways.
